Jebb Mac Band – Local On The Water
The Jebb Mac Band is the perfect way to punctuate a warm Southern beach day of sun-soaked friends and iced-cool drinks. Like a hurricane, they release their energy to a packed crowd at a laid back watering hole, with raucous covers ranging from Johnny Cash to Eminem, and original tunes evoking lazy river days and hot Southern nights.
Jebb Mac launched full-bore into the music industry as a member of Justin Smith & the Folk-Hop Band – a dynamic 8-piece from Columbia, SC. While with his former band, Jebb Mac toured with and opened for such national acts as Snoop Dogg, Collective Soul, Rehab, Bubba Sparxxx, Nappy Roots, and more. Ultimately deciding to branch off on his own, Mac released 2 solo albums (Alcohol & Agony and The Suburban Chronicles) before eventually putting together his own band.
While the foundation of its sound is country-oriented, the Jebb Mac Band manages to cross over genres by adding elements of funk, hip hop, pop, and rock. Throw in his brass section and it’s as if Bruno Mars, the Zac Brown Band, and Thomas Rhett were all part of the same band. The band has opened up for country stars like Mitchell Tenpenny, Randy Houser, and Easton Corbin and has also played at the prestigious CCMF (Carolina Country Music Festival) in Myrtle Beach on numerous occasions. Myrtle Beach’s Surge calls Jebb Mac Band’s live shows “dance-friendly, party-friendly,” appealing to “young audiences and young-at-heart fans who crave variety.”
Through his music, Jebb Mac intends to break down the walls and barriers that separate musical genres. Each member of the Jebb Mac Band projects their own diverse musical influence; and Jebb melds those influences into a sound that appeals to just as diverse an audience. Whether they’re singing about kicking back some beverages after a long work week, reminiscing about lost love, or just floating the day away down a river on an inner tube, the Jebb Mac Band creates universal appeal, infusing every song they play with their unique brand of energy, angst, and relief.
