North Myrtle Beach SC Live Music Calendar

A lot of people refer to Ocean Drive as “little Nashville with a beach”. On any given night you can go to a few dozen or more venues to hear live music. For those of us lucky enough to live here we know one thing. If a band is playing in North Myrtle Beach, more than likely they are very good and they are worth going to see.

Beach music is still prevalent with many of the beach bands still making their way through Ocean Drive. You can catch beach bands such as Jim Quick and Coastline, Gary Lowder and Smoking Hot, Too Much Sylvia, The Holiday Band, Cat 5 Band, Blackwater, The Entertainers, Band of Oz, The Tonez and others throughout the year.

Though beach music is still the most well-known music genre for what has made Ocean Drive famous, there is a growing base of country music bands that play here on a routine basis. Some of these bands include Thomas Road, Randy Atwood and the Renegades, Jeb Mac, Tim Elliott, Faith Bardill, Whiskey Neat. Muddy Creek Revival, Southern Trouble, and others.

And then there is another group of bands that don’t necessarily fit a genre but play a wide range of music. Some of these bands include Malarkey Brothers, Chocolate Chip Band, Diversity, EnVision, South Side Saints, The Formers, Funkly Leroy Harper, The Pink Slips, Silk Groove, Jan Michael Fields Band, and others.

We are also blessed with so many different venues to enjoy the bands, some of which are waterfront on the ocean or intracoastal waterway. We love going to Ducks, Spanish Galleon, Local on the Water, Captain Archies, Murphys on the Beach. And there are a number of other venues just a short drive away such as House of Blues, Star Tavern, Dirty Armadillo, Marina Bar and many others.

And oh by the way … here’s the best part. In 99% of the cases you can see these bands for free! How cool is that!

So come to North Myrtle Beach and get you some of this music. On any given night, of any given week … you will most certainly find a band that you like.
